Philly has always been my favorite east coast city. It gives you a big city feel, but you can easily get away and return to a county feel just by driving down highway 76. I also have always been a fan of the Philadelphia Eagles until they completely changed their team, which is another story. But this trip was about seeing one of best friend's who recently began her career in ticket sales for the Philadelphia 76ers! P.S. if you need season tickets or single game tickets, be sure to use my contact page and I will connect you with my friend!
As I mentioned above, I used to be quite an Eagles fan, so it was different coming to their athletic park for basketball instead of football. But nonetheless, the skyline always looks awesome whether going to Lincoln Financial or Wells Fargo.
We arrived early for pregame warmups as well as to receive a tour around the court. I was extremely excited to see the Los Angeles Clippers as I'm a pretty big Lob City Fan or Chris Paul (CP3) and Blake Griffin fan! Because one of my friends works for the 76ers we had some sweet court side seats! It was an awesome experience!
After the game, we were able to get our picture snapped on the court! What a way to end the night!
San Juan, Puerto Rico is absolutely breathtaking. The clear blue water and white beaches are pure paradise and not to mention, you can experience all of this without a passport! As a Southwest loyalist, I was also ecstatic to find out they now have flights to tropical paradises!
But there's more to San Juan than the beautiful beaches and resorts. If you want to explore some historical landmarks, you need to be sure to make some time for Old Town, San Juan.
Old San Juan had various historical landmarks to explore. I spent the most time exploring Castillo San Felipe del Morro. The size and intricate details of the landmark were remarkable. It originally served as a fort back in 1540 to protect the city from various attacks from foreign powers. Outside of the vast fort, there's also a national park which can include a variety of lizards, flying kites and tourist trying to capture the perfect shot. The views from within and on top of the fort were quite amazing. There's so much more to explore in Old Town, I would definitely advise spending at least 2 days to explore.
San Juan is also known for their authentic restaurants with classic Puerto Rican dishes and mojitos.
There's something whimsical about the St. Louis Cathedral in New Orleans. It's the cornerstone or extremely well known symbol of the city. This trip to New Orleans, I finally went inside and the interior is just as magical as the exterior. The hand painted images on the ceiling and gold crown molding were exquisite. The attention to detail was breathtaking. As many times as I had been to New Orleans, I was unaware the cathedral was open to public. But extremely excited I had the opportunity to explore this trip!
Most people thrive on Bourbon Street when visiting New Orleans. I can do without the chaos from Bourbon. I prefer exploring the city and viewing the French Quarter's historic architecture which is absolutely gorgeous. The railway for the trollies make the view on Canal even more visually appealing.
Lastly, you cannot be in the French Quarters without visiting the world famous Cafe Du Monde. Their fresh beignets generously covered in powdered sugar and famous cafe au lait is a New Orleans timeless experience. The great thing about Cafe Du Monde are their hours. They're open 24/7 so you can visit bright and early in the morning or after a night out on Bourbon Street. Their beignets and cafe au lait is always hot and ready! It is a place you must visit when you head to New Orleans.
Lastly, you cannot go to NOLA without stopping by Drago's at the Hilton. Their charbroiled oysters are TO DIE FOR! They're simply amazing. They're grilled and topped with lemon zest and parmesan cheese. I don't normally eat oysters, but these are the exception! They're simply amazing!
This time, I also had to try the alligator bites. They are also quite a southern delectable.
